Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan made history on Saturday, April 25, 2026, as they headlined the inaugural “Live Between the Hedges” concert at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia, marking just the second concert ever held in the venue’s nearly 100-year history.
The Georgia natives returned to Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium for the first time since 2013, when Aldean brought his Night Train Tour to the University of Georgia campus. That earlier performance remained the only concert in the stadium’s history until this year’s event, which featured an all-star lineup including current ACM nominee Zach Top, platinum-selling singer and fellow Georgia native Lauren Alaina, DJ Rock, and Dee Jay Silver.
Presented by Pruitt Health, the concert series was announced months in advance, with tickets going on sale to the public on Friday, October 3, 2025, following a fan club pre-sale that began September 29. Both artists emphasized the significance of returning to a venue where they first performed together over a decade ago.
“Playing Sanford Stadium in 2013 was one of the biggest highlights of my career,” Aldean said in a statement shared during the announcement. “I couldn’t be more excited to co-headline it this time with my buddy Luke Bryan. Luke and I have talked for years about wanting to do another show in Athens, and finally the stars have aligned for us to be able to do it. This one’s gonna be something people haven’t seen before.”
The event drew attention not only for its rarity but also for its cultural significance within the state. As two of Georgia’s most successful country music exports, Aldean and Bryan’s return to their home state for a stadium concert underscored their enduring connection to the region. The performance was widely covered by local and national media, including photographic documentation confirming the event as only the second concert in Sanford Stadium’s history.
With Sanford Stadium primarily known as the home of the University of Georgia Bulldogs football team, hosting musical events remains exceptionally uncommon. The 2026 concert joined a very short list of non-sporting events held at the venue, reinforcing its status as a multi-purpose facility capable of accommodating large-scale entertainment productions beyond traditional collegiate athletics.
