In a Facebook post on the same day, Candidate Yoon said, “We need to secure the safety of about 600 Koreans in Ukraine, where the sense of war crisis is heightening.”

“The conflict between the US and Russia over Ukraine is at its peak,” he said.

“The US, UK, Germany and Japan are already pushing for the evacuation of embassy staff members and their own citizens, and Russia has also withdrew their embassy staff and their families,” he said.

“In the early days of the corona crisis, we need to remember the difficult experience of having no return flights for people staying abroad,” he said.
