[경제]Starting tomorrow, electricity and gas rates will also increase… Average 1.8%↑ 860 won per household per month

Although the fuel cost adjustment unit price, which is a key element of the electricity rate, has been frozen, gas rates will also rise following the electricity rate from tomorrow (April 1) due to an increase in the standard fuel cost.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced that the price of city gas for housing and general use will increase by an average of 1.8% in accordance with the adjustment of the standard raw material cost due to the increase in energy cost.

As a result of this measure, the average gas bill per household is expected to rise by 860 won per month throughout the year.

As for electricity rates, the fuel cost adjustment unit price for the second quarter, which is a key element of the recent rate structure, has been frozen, but the standard fuel cost and climate environment rate have risen respectively, so consumers will have to pay a total of 6.9 won per kWh from the 1st of next month.

The standard fuel cost and climate environment fee will increase by 4.9 won and 2 won per kilowatt-hour (kWh), respectively, starting from the 1st of next month.

In the case of electricity rate, it consists of basic rate, fuel cost adjustment rate, standard fuel cost, climate environment rate, etc.
