As the winter cold wave continues, heating supply to a large apartment complex in Sanggye-dong, Seoul was suddenly cut off.

The number of households reaches 18,000 households.

This is because a heating pipe has been damaged near an apartment complex, and the restoration work is expected to last all day.

Yes, as you can see behind me, white steam is slowly swirling around the site.

Access has been blocked for safety reasons, and excavators are being moved to carry out repairs.

Around 8:00 am today the heating pipes around the apartment complex in Sanggye-dong, Seoul were damaged.

In the cold wave of minus 7 degrees, there is a disruption in the heating supply to 18,600 nearby homes.

The damaged heat pipe was completed in 1996 and found to be 450 mm thick.

Seoul Energy Corporation is carrying out the excavation of the damaged pipe area by moving excavators.

In addition, we check exactly where the damaged part is, and we find out the exact cause of the damage.

Nearby residents said the scale was large enough to assume there was a fire when the steam was first seen.

The fire department explained that no injuries have been reported so far related to the breaking of the heat pipe.

The Nowon-gu Seoul Office, the local government in charge, announced that it was sending a disaster text message to nearby residents, saying that heat supply would be cut off by around 8 pm.
