[속보]1,442 new COVID-19 cases… Four-digit confirmation for 26 days in a row

The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters announced that as of 00:00 on the 1st, there were 1,442 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. Due to the decrease in the number of tests over the weekend, the number of confirmed cases also decreased by nearly 100 compared to the previous day (1539). The number decreased by more than 40 from the 25th of last month (1487 people) a week ago.

The route of infection of the new confirmed cases was 1,386 domestic and 56 imported. By region, the number of confirmed cases was 469 in Seoul, 393 in Gyeonggi, and 87 in Incheon, with the metropolitan area accounting for 68.4% (949). In non-metropolitan areas, Busan 57, Daegu 23, Gwangju 12, Daejeon 67, Ulsan 19, Sejong 9, Gangwon 44, Chungbuk 15, Chungnam 42, Jeonbuk 23, Jeonnam 9, Gyeongbuk 26 , Gyeongnam 81, and Jeju 20 were additionally confirmed.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 increased by three, bringing the total to 2,098 (fatal rate of 1.05%). The number of stomach and severe cases was 324, an increase of 7 from the previous day. Currently, there are 20,2015 patients in quarantine. Since the first confirmed case in Korea in January last year, the cumulative number of confirmed cases has reached 199,787.

By 00:00 on that day, 19,444,120 people had completed their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The day before, 214,283 people were vaccinated. The inoculation rate relative to the population is 37.9%. The number of people who completed all of the recommended number of vaccinations increased by 13,340 to a cumulative 7,145,922 (13.9% of the population).
