The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters (Bangdaebon) announced that there were 668 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of 00:00 on the 26th. For the fourth day, the number of confirmed cases around 600 continued.
The route of infection of the new confirmed cases is 611 cases in Korea and 57 cases imported from abroad.
In Korea, 457 cases were confirmed in the metropolitan area, with 260 in Seoul, 185 in Gyeonggi, and 12 in Incheon. In non-metropolitan areas, Busan 28, Daegu 13, Gwangju 7, Daejeon 12, Ulsan 22, Sejong 2, Gangwon 23, Chungbuk 5, Chungnam 6, Jeonbuk 3, Jeonnam 3, Gyeongbuk 9 , Gyeongnam 12, and Jeju 9 were additionally confirmed.
The death toll from COVID-19 has risen by three. The cumulative death toll was 2012 (fatal rate of 1.30%). There were 149 patients with stomach and severe cases. Currently, there are 6456 patients in quarantine.
By 00:00 on that day, 15,263,225 people had completed their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The previous day, 46,333 people were vaccinated. The inoculation rate to the population is 29.7%. The number of people who completed all of the recommended number of vaccinations increased by 96,129 to a cumulative 4,618,918 (9.0% of the population).
