The men’s swimming team led by Hwang Seon-woo proudly placed 6th in the final of the World Championships for the first time ever.
He broke the Korean record twice a day and revealed the prospect of gold medal at the Asian Games next year.

The men’s team cut the previous Korean record by nearly 3 seconds with a result of 7 minutes and 8 seconds in the men’s 800m relay qualifying round that started on Thursday morning local time!
We made a new history by placing 4th out of 14 countries and advancing to the finals of the World Championships team event.
And in the final held about 7 hours later, he broke the Korean record again.
Hwang Seon-woo, a silver medalist in the 200m freestyle in this event, was the first swimmer and led the race to first place.
Kim Woo-min, Lee Yu-yeon, and Lee Ho-jun also worked together to set a new Korean record of 7 minutes and 6 seconds.
After the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom, he proudly placed sixth and achieved the best performance ever at the World Championships.
