# Editor’s Note
Micronics is one of the companies that has an excellent ability to catch the flow of the market quickly. In that regard, everyone would agree that retro is the mood these days. The presentation of the keyboard is moderately melted in such a trend.
The visible part, the felt part, and the expected part are all retro reinterpreted in a modern way. In fact, nothing is as easy as a keyboard to change the atmosphere of a PC, but in that regard, there is no product that is more suitable for the purpose of making it feel old by buying it without a burden.
# Retro DNA felt by hand
remember the old days? Ironically, it’s a new play culture that young people in their 20s and 30s are following these days. Is it because I grew up in an age that changes too quickly? Attempts to reproduce old things can be seen here and there. Personal computers are no exception. Although the name is a bit long, the ‘Micronics WIZMAX W101P 4th Generation Optical Axis Full Waterproof PBT’ keyboard is a product that is drunk with just such an atmosphere.
There doesn’t seem to be much of a way to give the keyboard a retro feel. Maybe it’s because my thoughts are stuck in a frame, but what immediately comes to mind is ‘colour play’! Come to think of it, the current keyboards we used might have considered black or white an honor. And among the many colors, did they stick to black and white?
I have become familiar with such products, but facing an unfamiliar product, I feel quite fresh. Firstly, there are 3 colors to choose from. It is a bit difficult to see if the original color distribution is like this. ▲ Sky blue ▲ Ash pink ▲ Peacock green is its own classification method. Can’t we say blue, pink and green? Seeing that his ears are itching, it seems that he wants to be called properly.
In that regard, the products I have used are divided into three types, but among them, the Peacock Green version. Peacock green was added to the retro beige color as a base. Retro Beige is a subtle color shade that Generation X would most likely come across. It’s not completely white, it’s not even beige, it’s just a slightly faded white color from long exposure to sunlight. It’s very vague, but I know it when I see it. ‘Ah~ this color’ could be.
# Amazing 4th generation optical axis, what is it?
For keyboard geeks who feel Surgasm with their fingertips, switches are a key element that determines the character of a keyboard. It’s such an important part. Most of the keyboards in the hermalgun color used without knowing the cool in the past are membrane type with contact printing on the film. Popular, but without personality. Today, switches are used instead of film. The price is a bit high, but it is a mechanical type that tastes different.
Mechanical switch patents were originally only available to Chery. As it was released, switches with a cherry key feel were poured in the beginning, but over time, they evolved into switches with their own information, and thanks to that, a switch brand market is formed. Background information for reference.
The 4th generation optical axis means that the switch used is a 4th generation product. Micronics applied the 4th generation of directive optical axis switch to the WIZMAX W101P keyboard, and included the corresponding character (typing feel). The switch is also the core that separates the key sense and sensory satisfaction for each switch.
Borrowing the description from Micronics, the hammer, which is the central axis of the switch, cuts the keyboard’s IR sensor in the middle to input, so it shows a faster reaction force because it is a non-contact method. Depending on the key weight and sound, the feel of the key is slightly different, but being mechanical, it’s above average. Moreover, it has a lifespan of 100 million cycles.
The explanation is very complicated, but in short, it is good for gaming. For users who want to increase their win rate by moving quickly and hitting the enemy’s head, this product is a very effective input device that allows them to react one step ahead. Of course, it is also an advantage for users who have to hit the batter hard. Since you can play properly without straining your hands, your hands will feel less tired even if you use it for an extended period of time.
# So how is it good?
To list the advantages, first of all, durability is good. Mechanical switches are inherently durable, but if a switch breaks down, it can be removed and replaced with a normal switch. To this end, as many as three basic spare switches are provided. how do you separate it? A remover is also provided, so replacing is not difficult for intellectuals who can use the multiplication table up to 9th.
It can also be cleaned if it is contaminated. You can wash it clean by putting it in water and turning it around. Of course, no user will do that, but if you’re in the worst situation you should be in, don’t worry. It is actually an IPX8 rated waterproof design, so you can wash it without any problems. Remember to dry properly after washing.
Finally, two-color light-transmitting PBT injection keycaps were used. One of the common features of keyboards that have been used for a long time is the glossy, shiny phenomenon. It’s simply a problem caused by hand wear, but Micronics didn’t want to see that kind of look, so they built keycaps that were as rare as possible.
It is not true that there is no chance of encountering a keyboard glitch when you have been using it for a long time, write hard, and type often, but it is certainly less likely . In addition, the white LED subtly emphasizes the silhouette of each key. Attention was drawn to the fact that it is cumbersome to use in a place other than personal use, focusing on the keyboard so far. If it’s a white LED, it’s a clear alternative in intellectual.
