[아시아에이TV] Krafton unveils visual concept trailer for ‘Birds Drink Tears’

[아시아에이=이준호 기자] Krafton released the visual concept trailer for the fantasy novel ‘Birds Drinking Tears’ by Lee Young-do on the official YouTube channel on the 19th.

The released trailer is the first secondary production based on the ‘Birds Drinking Tears’ visual R&D artwork. The trailer was created to present live the results of visual research and development carried out so far, introducing Krafton’s philosophy and will to grow the ‘bird drinking tears’ into a global IP.

Krafton intends to provide different types of content to global users through IP expansion work that is faithful to the original and adds originality.

This video, which was self-produced using Unreal Engine, reproduces the scene where the main character of the novel, Kagan Draka, goes out and kills a scout.

The trailer shows Kagan’s brutal side, while at the same time revealing the tragic feelings through Kagan’s monologue and background music. You can listen to it in Korean and English, and the Korean dub was recorded by Kwak Yun-seong, who played the role of Kagan in the audiobook ‘Birds Drinking Tears’ published in 2020.

For the past two years, Krafton has been conducting visual research and development, which will serve as a cornerstone for expanding the novel IP into various media such as games. Last month, the project announced a new game ‘Iaith Publishing Project’ based on the IP ‘Adar Yeddgrau’, and partially revealed some of its visual research and development artwork on the project’s teaser site.

This work is done by Tim Windless, under the guidance of Krafton Art Director Kwang-jae Son, and concept artist Ian McKayg, who took part in visualizing the early characters of various blockbuster films such as Star Wars and The Avengers.

Krafton plans to publish the art book ‘Bird Drinking Tears’, the fruit of his visual research and development, within this year, and next year, he plans to present a graphic novel to inform more global readers about ‘Birds Drink Tears’.
