The first passport recipient of gender ‘X’ has not been officially identified, but it is known as 63-year-old Dana Jim, a former U.S. Navy veteran.

He wrote ‘intersex’ and asked the government to allow him to write his gender as ‘X’ on his passport, but was denied, and has been suing with the US State Department since 2015.
