[정치]Ahn Cheol-soo announces his candidacy tomorrow

[앵커]

Ahn Cheol-soo, chairman of the People’s Party, will officially announce his candidacy for the presidential election on the 1st.

As a result, the competition for the presidency began as a multilateral structure, and the opposition’s presidential equation became more complex.

CEO Ahn Cheol-soo, who has been sparing his words about running for president!

Breaking the silence of the past, we made the presidential election official.

Ahn dropped out in 2012 while promoting unification with Democratic Party candidate Moon Jae-in as an independent.

In 2017, he ran as a candidate for the People’s Party and finished third.

As he declared his candidacy again this time, the race for the presidency is expected to begin in a ‘four-way structure’, including Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung, People’s Strength candidate, and Justice Party candidate Shim Sang-jung.

First of all, it seems that Ahn will try to differentiate himself from the existing representatives by putting forward a vision for the future.

In a recent presidential election poll, Ahn’s approval rating is around 5-8%.

There are also evaluations that it can become a ‘casting boat’ that can determine the outcome of this presidential election, which is expected to be extremely thin.

Because of this, the question of whether to unite with the People’s Power candidate is likely to rise again.

People’s Power Rep. Hong Jun-pyo said that he would promote solidarity with Ahn if he becomes the final candidate.

Former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min emphasized that he would start unification as soon as he became a candidate.
