Recalling the opening day of the university last year, the exterior wall of the campus building was painted with “a tart”, and the words of the demonstration in 2019 could be vaguely seen. There were several foreign security guards at the entrances and exits. In the new semester of 2021, graffiti has disappeared, and the university campus has ushered in a new order. In the new year, there will be more national security education courses and more security gates at the entrances and exits. What is missing are the student union that has been operating on campus for many years, and the countless students who have been sent to prison.

The National Security Office of the police went to the student union building to search for evidence. The school subsequently carried out a “major cleansing”, removing the door plate of the “student union office” and the wording of the student union outside the building, and clearing the student union poster board. It was seen on the scene that the Democracy Wall and the Student Union Building of the University of Hong Kong no longer have any propaganda. The original site of the Student Union has been covered by registered Japanese materials. A notice from the school was posted outside the door stating that the Student Union Building has been taken over. However, there is still a student union monument next to the welcome booth, which reads “Unity, Independence”.

HKUST school clears “Frog Road” protest slogan into history
During the 2014 Umbrella Movement, HKUST students used white paint on the “Frog Road” on campus to write the words “Hope lies in the change of the people starting with resistance”. In June last year, the Student Union applied to the school for refueling and was rejected. The editorial board of the Student Union of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology discovered that a few days ago, cleaners had erased the words and sentences, leaving only traces of vague white paint.
From the photos and videos provided by the Student Union, one cleaner used a high-pressure water gun to remove the words, and another cleaner was behind him to help.
The University of Science and Technology responded to enquiries saying that in order to cope with the gradual restoration of physical teaching, the University of Science and Technology has started using waterwheels to clean the campus since the beginning of this year. Members provide a safe working and learning environment.
PolyU claims that the content of the student newspaper is inappropriate and requires immediate removal

The editorial board of the PolyU Student Newspaper stated earlier that it was notified by the school that the latest issue, “Polylife 50.1”, had to withdraw the physical and online version due to “inappropriate” content. The publications in question have the word “R” as the cover, and the “Editor’s Note” mentions the different meaning of the word “R”.
