Previously, the Blue House had lifted access control on the ‘North side of Mt. Bukak’ in November 2020.

After one year and six months, the remaining southern side was also decided to be completely open to the public.

President Moon Jae-in and his wife took a walk on the southern side of the fortress this afternoon to commemorate the occasion.

The area of ​​Mt. Bukak is about 1.1 million square meters, equivalent to 4.7 times that of Yeouido Park, and the length of the trail is 5.2 km, the Blue House introduced.

The Blue House said, “With this measure, the section of Inwangsan – Buam-dong – Bukaksan north side – Hanyang City Seonggwak – Bukaksan mountain south side – Samcheong-dong, starting from Ansan, Seodaemun-gu, will continue without interruption. emphasized.

The Blue House also said that the unused military facilities around Bukaksan Mountain, some iron fences located on the northern side of the Bukaksan Fortress after the ‘Kim Shinjo Incident’, were removed, and the section used as a patrol route was reorganized into a nature-friendly trail.

Instead, for the 189m section, it was decided to preserve its current appearance by naming the road ‘Remembering Modern and Contemporary History’.
