靑 NSC checks the situation in Ukraine… “Measures to protect local people and businesses”

The Blue House held a National Security Council (NSC) Standing Committee on the 27th to check the countermeasures against the Omicron mutation, the situation in Ukraine, and the preparations for dispatching the government delegation to the Beijing Winter Olympics.

At the regular NSC Standing Committee meeting presided over by National Security Office Director Suh Hoon, participants first attended Δ military medical support Δ implementation of special quarantine measures for domestic and foreign service members in order to quickly overcome the domestic COVID-19 situation such as the recent rapid spread of Omicron Δ implementation of special quarantine measures for domestic and foreign soldiers Δ cooperation with USFK quarantine Δ international community They decided to do their best to thoroughly manage and support quarantine by mobilizing all their available security and diplomatic capabilities, including cooperation with the government.

They also decided to check the ripple effect and countermeasures on the Korean economy in case of an emergency related to Ukraine, and continue to take measures for the safety and protection of local Koreans and businesses.

The meeting was attended by Nam Young-sook, economic adviser, Joo Young-joon, director of industrial policy at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and Kim Byung-hwan, director of economic policy at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance to discuss measures related to Ukraine.

In addition, the participants checked the preparations for dispatching the government delegation to the Beijing Winter Olympics, which will open on the 4th of next month, and agreed to provide necessary support for the safe participation of our athletes.
