Prime Minister Han Duk-soo said on the 21st that President Yoon Seok-yeol will discuss the US Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which exempts Korean electric vehicles from subsidies at a summit meeting with US President Joe Biden.

In a question to the government in the economic field held in the National Assembly that day, Prime Minister Kim Tae-nyeon, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, said in relation to the IRA, “President Yoon, who is visiting with the United States for a speech at the United Nations General Assembly should maintain the national interest even if it blushes at the summit with President Biden. When asked, “Isn’t it?” he said, “I think we will discuss it of course because it is an important task for us.”


In response to National Assemblyman Kim’s question, ‘What was our government doing while the IRA was being discussed?’, Prime Minister Han said, “Even during the previous administration, since the state of the ‘Better Bill Rebuilding (BBB)’), He said, “I have suggested several times that I should not make a decision,” he said.


Prime Minister Han explained, “It definitely passed the US Senate on August 4th and the House of Representatives on the 12th.
He said, “On August 9th, an official from the Department of Industry at the US embassy met and spoke with the US Assistant Secretary of Commerce and the US Economic Corporation to meet and speak with the US Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs. the 11th, the deputy minister of the US-US government met with the USTR delegation,” he added.
