Nketia grew up in Arsenal’s youth team and successfully established himself in the first team. He has been playing for Arsenal since the age of 14, making his first-team debut in 2017. He is proving his potential with 23 goals in 92 games for the first team. He is a central striker whose quick feet and link play are his strengths.
The performance in the second half of last season was particularly outstanding. He did not play early in the season due to an injury, but since January he has increased his playing time, scoring five goals and one assist. His multi-goal impact was particularly strong against Chelsea. Since then, he has scored two goals against Leeds United and one against Everton.
The jersey number has also changed with this renewal of the contract. In the 2021-2022 season, he wore number 30 on the ground, but from the next season he will play wearing number 14. 14 is the number Thierry Henry used in the past.
