Israel is the first to block its borders as infections spread across Europe just days after the novel coronavirus mutation, Omicron, was identified in South Africa.

Countries around the world are tightening the reins in entry restrictions, such as the UK making self-quarantine mandatory for all people entering the country.

South Africa, where the ‘omicron’ mutation, which is feared to be much more contagious than the delta mutation, was first identified.

The number of infections is increasing day by day in various parts of the country, including the administrative capital of Pretoria.

After the advent of ‘Omicron’, Israel was the first to block borders.

Israel has decided to ban all foreigners from entering the country for 14 days after the number of infected with the omicron mutation not only in its own country but also in other parts of Europe.

The UK has decided to make it mandatory for all inbound travelers to self-quarantine until the results of gene amplification and PCR tests are negative.

The US government has decided to restrict travel to eight countries, including South Africa and Botswana.

New York State was the first state to declare a state of emergency in case of a possible spread of the Omicron mutation.

Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong have also banned entry or made quarantine mandatory for those who have visited African countries such as South Africa.

In the midst of the rapid re-spreading of COVID-19 in Europe, omicron mutations have also appeared, causing international movement to freeze again.
