The Japanese government acknowledged the truth about the sexual assault that took place within the Japanese Self-Defense Forces and apologized to the victims.
A former SDF member who eventually left the SDF after reporting the damage was dismissed and wept, saying it was ‘too late’.
Correspondent Lee Kyung-ah reports from Tokyo.

Rina Konoi, who is 23 years old, is thirsty as she remembers the past.
In the Self-Defense Forces that came in with a dream, I experienced something that I don’t want to remember.
Sexual assaults by male crew members have continued for almost a year since the fall of 2020.
As a result of the investigation, Japan’s Ministry of Defense confirmed the damage and apologized.
“Director of the Personnel Education Office of the Japanese Ministry of Defense “I’m very sorry.”
It has never been easy to get here.
I reported routine sexual violence, such as physical contact after being knocked down on the training ground, to the head of the company, but that was the end of it.
Mr Konoi left the Self-Defense Forces last June and revealed the facts of his devastation under his real name.
Since then, over 100,000 people have signed up to call for a fact-finding investigation.
Amid mounting criticism, the members who initially denied also admitted to having committed sexual violence.

The problem doesn’t seem to stop there.
This is because, during the investigation, additional members of the Self-Defense Forces were revealed who complained of sexual violence.

The Japanese government has announced that they will take strict disciplinary action if it is confirmed that the crime has been committed according to the results of the examination of all the members.
