Power damage intensified… Cooking outdoors and drawing water from a well

In Ukraine, which is suffering from severe power shortages due to Russian missile attacks, there are situations where people cook outdoors and draw water from wells.

As the cold of winter sets in, the suffering of Ukrainians is likely to become even more severe.

Reporter Kim Seon-hee reports.

The Ukrainian port city of Odessa has been plunged into darkness by a Russian missile attack.

Even in the early evening, citizens rely on small lights to walk the streets and go to shops.

The situation is the same in Kharkiv, the second city.

There are no lights on the street except for car lights.

A series of satellite images taken by NASA and NASA show the severity of the power outage.

Among them, the most desperate place is the hospital.

Even in the middle of a blackout, the medical staff who performed heart surgery on a newborn baby did not let go of hope until the end.

There has been no electricity for weeks, and residents are cooking with a fire in their front yard.

At least, I think this is a good thing.

In areas without tap water, water is drawn from a nearby well.

As Russian missiles intensify, more people line up at the well.

We are facing a harsher winter than ever before due to continued missile attacks from Ukraine and Russia, where the future will bring a more bitter cold.
