When it became known that the United States planned to support Ukraine with Patriot air defense missiles in the near future, Russia immediately issued a warning.
Russia has threatened unpredictable consequences.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov threatened that the United States would make Patriot air defense missiles a legitimate target for the Russian military in response to reports that it would soon support Ukraine.

The Russian embassy in the United States also issued a warning in an official commentary.
“If US President Joe Biden decides to deliver Patriot missiles to Ukraine, it will be another provocative step by the US administration that will lead to unpredictable consequences,” he argued.
He also pointed out that “besides providing Patriot, the United States is increasingly mired in conflicts in the former Soviet Union.”
“Such an approach not only causes enormous damage to relations between the United States and Russia, but also poses additional risks to international security,” he said.
US media reported on the 13th that the US government has decided to send Patriot, the main missile defense system, to Ukraine.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said it could be approved this week and signed by President Joe Biden.
Ukraine has been asking the US to support Patriot air defense missiles, saying it is desperate to strengthen its air defense system.
This is to prevent Russia from hitting power supply facilities in major Ukrainian cities with long-range missiles or self-destructing Iranian drones.
Patriot is an air defense system that intercepts missiles and is evaluated to be the most advanced weapon that the United States has supported in Ukraine since the Russian invasion in February this year.
