U.S. opens borders to vaccinated people…A hug at every airport

The United States, which closed its borders due to the spread of COVID-19, has allowed entry only to those who have been vaccinated.

As overseas travel, which had been virtually banned for two years, was lifted, a thrilling reunion continued at the airport.

Reporter Kim Seon-hee reports.

At Newark International Airport, New Jersey, USA, a man and a woman hug each other as soon as they meet.

The two, who were engaged but separated due to COVID-19, flew from the Netherlands as soon as the border was opened and had a tearful reunion.

Even a grandmother living in France is excited to see her grandchildren living apart from the United States after a long time.

The United States, which had been barred due to the spread of Corona 19, has opened its borders to 33 countries, including Europe.

As overseas travel routes that had been banned for nearly two years were opened, touching encounters continued at each airport.

All major airports in the United States, as well as the land border between Mexico and Canada, were included.

However, in order to board the plane, you must present a certificate of COVID-19 vaccination and negative test results.

With border openings resulting in a surge in travelers, airlines have decided to increase flights to the United States and mobilize larger passenger planes.

With border closures and a sharp drop in travelers due to COVID-19, more than a million jobs have been lost in the United States.
