[국제]UK deploys army troops in gas crisis… Support for transportation from the 4th

AFP news agency reported on the 1st of local time that the British government will send army troops from next week to support fuel transportation to alleviate the fuel crisis that has been going on since the end of last month.

The British government said, “About 200 tankers, including 100 drivers, will be deployed from the 4th to provide temporary support.”

The move is “part of a government action to ease the burden on gas stations and address the shortage of heavy truck drivers.”

After the oil company BP announced earlier that it would temporarily close some gas stations due to a shortage of truck drivers, the panic buying phenomenon of consumers continued for a week.

The Gas Stations Association, an interest group in the oil industry in the UK, said on September 30 local time that 27% of gas stations were out of oil.

“Members are increasing their fuel supply, but they say they are depleting faster than usual due to unprecedented demand,” the UK Gas Station Federation said in a statement.
