[국제]’War and Corona’ economic ‘goal’ in the US and China … Global economic growth is ‘halved’

[앵커]

The economic situation of the United States and China, the two pillars of the world economy, is getting darker this year as growth is hampered by the Ukraine war and Corona 19.

As the growth engines of the two countries cooled, the global economic growth forecast was cut in half, and other countries were also in a state of emergency.

China’s growth target for this year is 5.5%.

It is the lowest figure in 31 years, but even this seems difficult to achieve.

This is because the damage caused by the lockdown of large cities due to the spread of COVID-19 is serious.

Production and consumption froze as residents were unable to leave their gates.

In China, retail sales fell 11.1% last month and industrial production fell 2.9%.

The situation in the United States is also not easy.

Inflation is at its highest level in 40 years, with the recent inflation rate exceeding 8% for two months in a row.

The primary reason was that the economic shock caused by the spread of Corona 19 was resolved by ‘freeing money’.

This was fueled by a surge in grain and oil prices due to the Ukraine war.

A recession is expected as the US is aggressively tightening its currency to contain inflation.

The sluggishness of the two pillars of the world economy, the US and China, is also having a negative impact on the global economy.

The Ukrainian war and China’s blockade of metropolises have led to supply chain disruptions, leading to soaring prices.

In addition, as the dollar strengthens, borrowing costs rise and import prices rise.

As a result, the global economic growth forecast for this year has been cut in half.

The International Finance Association recently lowered its forecast to 2.3% from 4.6%.
