The World Health Organization (WHO) predicted that, if the problem of inequality in vaccines and therapeutics can be quickly resolved, we will be able to get out of the worst medical condition caused by the COVID-19 pandemic within this year.
However, it is expected that the complete eradication of the virus will be difficult because we cannot be sure that another mutation that evades the immune response of the existing mutation will not appear.

Michael Ryan, head of the World Health Organization’s emergency response team, said:

Although there is optimism that Corona 19 will become an endemic disease like the flu due to the omicron mutation, which has strong transmission power but is weak in severity, there is also a cautious theory that it cannot be confirmed yet.
Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said that this is because we cannot be sure that another mutation that evades the immune response of the existing mutation does not appear.
Fauci also predicted that if the transmission level of Omicron decreases, restrictions on economic and social activities, such as travel restrictions, could be lifted.
In the midst of this, American pharmaceutical company Moderna said it plans to develop a vaccine that can prevent COVID-19 and the flu with a single vaccination by the second half of next year.
