Exploration of Venus, the second planet in the solar system, is expected to begin. Venus is a planet that has not been easily explored since its outermost atmosphere exceeds 500 degrees Celsius.

According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), a research team at the Goddard Space Flight Center recently published details of the ‘Da Vinci Mission’ scheduled for June 2029 in the ‘Journal of Planetary Science’. The Da Vinci mission sends two probes to Venus.

Venus is the closest planet to Earth and most similar in size and structure to Earth. But the air is hot enough to melt lead and is surrounded by acid clouds. It was difficult to imagine the existence of life, so we could not even dare to explore it.

For this reason, it will be the first exploration of Venus in 30 years since Magellan in 1989. The Venus probe consists of a main ship and a small probe. The mains will fly with Venus Gravity Assist. The Da Vinci mission involves a total of three close flight. The miniature probe penetrates the atmosphere, descends to the surface, and performs ultra-precise measurements.

The expedition is expected to provide detailed information about Venus’ atmosphere and climate system, as well as images and rocks of its mountainous regions. It is also expected that new information will be obtained through ultra-precise measurement work.

“In the atmosphere of Venus, none of the previous missions have been able to measure the chemical composition and environment as detailed as da Vinci could,” said Dr. Gavin, chief researcher for Da Vinci’s mission. There wasn’t even a single mission.”

In addition to Da Vinci, exploration of Venus is expected to be active. NASA plans to launch ‘Veritas’ to explore Venus’ volcanic activity and geology. The European Space Agency (ESA) is also planning to launch the Venus probe ‘Invision’.

The exploration of Venus, which is piled up in the veil, cannot but be expected.
