On the 13th of next month, Jin will join the Recruit Training Battalion of the Yeoncheon 5th Infantry Division, receive five weeks of training, and then be sent to the frontline unit. Born in 1992, at the age of 30, Jin, the oldest member of BTS, received a recommendation from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to postpone his enlistment in accordance with the revised Military Service Act 2020, and his enlistment was postponed until the end. this year.

In response, Jin announced his plan to enlist after a solo concert in Busan last month, and after returning to Korea after performing the single “The Astronaut” with the band Coldplay in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he filed an application for delaying his enlistment. If an enlistment deferral intends to enlist in the military before the end of the deferment period, an application to cancel an enlistment deferment must be submitted to the Ministry of Military Manpower.

The Ministry of National Defense has expressed its position that it will provide opportunities to participate if the member himself wishes to participate in an event in the public interest or national interest after BTS enlists.
