The executive officer of the presidential office concurrently serves as a director of an outside company… ‘Bad personnel’ controversy again

We continue with the news of the presidential office personnel verification.

As a result of KBS coverage, it was confirmed that an administrator who was recently appointed to the presidential office also served as a director of an outside company.

Public officials are prohibited by law from doing other for-profit activities at the same time.

This administrator described it as a ‘mistake’.

This is the exclusive report of reporter Kim Cheong-yun.

A large LPG filling station in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do.

It is run by a former city council president, and his son, Mr. Park, has also been involved in the management.

It is also a fact that he announced himself through SNS.

In addition to this company, Park was also the CEO of a taxi company.

He was also active in political parties in Cheongju, but was recently appointed to the presidential office.

The position of the taxi company representative was laid down at the end of May.

However, in the register of gas sellers, Mr. Park is still listed as an inside director.

He said he had also left the party he was a member of, but he did not give up his position on the board of a private company.

In the presidential office, Mr. Park’s position was as an administrator of the general affairs operation and management team in the Office of the General Secretary.

This is the so-called ‘office house team’ that is in charge of the management of the official residence and internal events.

While doing this, Mr. Park also served as a director of the company.

It’s against the ‘National Public Officials Act’, which prohibits public officials from engaging in for-profit work.

According to Park’s explanation, ‘mistakes’ were not filtered out during the personnel verification process of the presidential office.

The presidential office explained, “We guide you through the prohibition of concurrent positions during appointment, but it is difficult to understand if you do not report it yourself.”

In addition, he added, “In the case of Administrator Park, he did not engage in commercial activities, so it cannot be said that there was a real conflict of interest.”
