The Republic of Korea baseball team won a come-back victory over the Dominican Republic at the bottom of the ninth.
South Korea defeated the Dominican Republic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games at Yokohama Stadium in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan on the 1st in the first round of knockout stage, 2nd place, 4:3.
The national team seized the opportunity when pinch hitter Choi Joo-hwan in the bottom of the ninth, lagging 1:3, scored an infield hit against the opposing team’s closing pitcher Luis Castillo.
After that, runner Kim Hye-seong succeeded in stealing base, and then Park Hae-min and Lee Jeong-hoo hit the right time to make the tie 3:3.
And Kim Hyeon-soo, who entered the plate at 2 and 3 base, put an end to the comeback drama with a just-in-time hit to pass the height of right fielder.
The national team will play the second round of the knockout stage against Israel, who defeated Mexico on the same day at 12:00 noon on the 2nd.
After winning the match against Israel, if they win the match against the winner of the US-Japan match, they advance to the final with a gold medal.
