The first Olympic challenge of the Olympic men’s weightlifting team Jin Yun-seong (26, Goyang City Hall) was unfortunately over.

Jin Yun-seong lifted a total of 400 kg with a lift of 180 kg and a jerk of 220 kg in the men’s 109 kg weightlifting final at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics held at the Tokyo International Forum in Japan on the afternoon of the 3rd. He finished sixth in the final ranking and failed to win a medal.

He neatly succeeded in lifting 180 kg in the first period, but failed in the second and third periods, when he challenged his personal best of 185 kg. In the 2nd round, the center of gravity was tilted to the rear the moment the weight was lifted and failed, and in the 3rd time, the weight was lifted vigorously, but the posture was somewhat unstable and was disqualified.

Jin Yun-seong did not give up and gave strength to the dragon. From the first period, he succeeded in lifting his best record of 220 kg. However, he finished his first Olympic challenge without success in the second period of 225 kg and the third period of 230 kg.

Jin Yun-seong, who started weightlifting at the recommendation of a physical education teacher in the first year of middle school, was selected as an excellent athlete in the National Youth Sports Festival and opened up his life in weightlifting. Since then, he has continued to grow steadily, finishing third at the 2016 Asian Weightlifting Championships and runners-up at the 2019 World Championships.

As he stepped on the stage of his first Olympics after 13 years of initiation, he aimed to win a medal, but unfortunately he had to promise the next Olympics.
