[롤 패치결산] Patch 12.12, ‘Amumu’ finds a new friend

[게임플] Riot Games’ popular online game ‘League of Legends’ has finished patch 12.12 and is preparing for the next patch.

This 12.12 patch was an attempt to change the meta by weakening previously strong champions such as Sena, Thamkenchi, and Wukong by performing additional balance adjustments instead of continuing for three weeks.

■ Champions in good health despite downgrades

Prior to 12.12, some champions such as Senna, Thamkenchi, Wukong, and Belves continued to show good stats and dominated the ranked game. Some champions were in a situation where performance adjustments were needed to the extent that they appeared as fixed in competitions.

Through the 12.12b patch, Sena’s base health and the duration of the bondage of the W skill ‘Last Hug’ have been reduced. Here, the base damage of the Q skill ‘Piercing Darkness’ has been changed to increase at a high level instead of decreasing at a low level, slightly raising the high point.

It is true that both Sena’s win rate and pick rate have dropped significantly compared to before. In fact, if you look at the win rate by game length, you can see that it gradually decreases as time goes by.

On the other hand, Thamkench, who is often used as Sena’s partner, still has a ridiculous win rate of 55.71%, showing that the Sena-Tamkench combination is still worth using.

In the 12.12b patch, Tahm Kench’s HP per level increase and the bonus stamina factor of the basic passive ‘Absolute Taste’ damage has been downgraded. Nevertheless, it seems that further downward revisions are necessary given the current performance.

In this patch, Wukong also lowered the damage to monsters of the E skill ‘Dark Strike’ and increased the cooldown of the ultimate skill ‘Spin’, lowering the initial influence. Still, the mid-to-late performance did not change significantly, so the statistics also maintained the status quo.

Belves was downgraded in 12.12, but still performing well, so more tweaks were made in 12.12b. However, there is no significant change in the time when the 12.11 patch first appeared, when the performance was changed twice, and the win rate itself.

Currently, the ban rate in the solo rank is sealed to a level of 60%, so it is highly likely that additional measures will be taken after the 12.13 patch.

■ ‘Amumu’ went to the bottom to find a friend once again.

In this 12.12 patch, Amumu’s Q skill ‘Bandage Throw”s mana consumption decreased and his ultimate skill ‘Curse of Sad Mummy’ base damage increased, and he started working as a supporter as before.

Unlike grab-type champions, since it is an entry-type champion like Leona, it carries some risk, but it can reliably perform the role of grabbing the enemy’s ankles with its Q skill and ultimate.

He has already appeared and played an active part in competitions several times, and is currently showing good results in the solo rank with a win rate of 52.21%. In particular, good statistics are coming out against Sena, so it’s not bad as a counter pick.

■ New build space How are ‘Katarina’ and ‘Shaco’ provided?

In the case of Katarina and Shaco, the skill factor was adjusted so that various builds could be studied in the 12.12 patch. Katarina’s basic passive effect and E skill ‘Shunbo”s attack power factor has been lowered, but with her ultimate skill ‘Death Lotus’, the attack speed factor has been increased for the damage of the flying dagger.

This was obviously an adjustment to use attack speed or ability power builds instead of damage builds with Divine Destroyer.

In fact, people have been studying various builds around Nasher’s teeth since the patch. However, it didn’t perform as well as expected, giving patch 12.12b room to play, such as ability power and attack speed factors, showing a slight improvement over the previous one.

The same goes for Shaco. After the durability patch, it became difficult to play assassination properly, so the basic damage of the skills was left as it was, and the attack power and ability power factor were increased to increase the influence in the mid-late game. This was also intended to prevent the use of items such as foot shredders and turbo chemical tanks.

After the update, there was no significant change, so through the 12.12b patch, the skill power was increased once more, and then the proper effect started to appear.

Now, a build using both Draxar’s Twilight Blade and Liandry’s Agony has been established, and the win rate, which has been gradually declining since the durability patch was introduced, is gradually recovering.

In addition, after this adjustment, Serafin has appeared not only as a supporter but also in the mid and bottom, forming a new meta. Some champions who have improved, such as Annie and Jarvan IV, are not having such a good time that they need further action.

The 12.12 patch performed two performance adjustments, but there was no significant change except for Amumu and Seraphine. In the 12.13 patch, which will be held on the 13th, the new champion Nila will join. It remains to be seen how Nilla will affect the meta.
