,

The ‘2021 Seoul Mobility Show’, the largest automobile exhibition in Korea, kicked off on the 25th with a press day event at KINTEX, Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do.

Originally, it was the ‘Seoul Motor Show’, but the name of the event was changed in line with the trend of electrification and autonomous driving.

About 100 companies and institutions from 6 countries participated in the first event after changing the signage. In particular, as for finished car brands, three domestic and seven overseas brands participated and unveiled a total of 19 new cars, including one world premiere, five Asian premieres, and 13 Korean premieres.

The most eye-catching was Hyundai’s ‘IONIQ 5’, which can drive fully autonomously. It is a fully autonomous vehicle in which an automated system controls the vehicle and the driver does not need to intervene in an emergency.

“Hyundai Motor is developing autonomous driving technology that allows everyone to move safely and comfortably based on the development philosophy of universal safety and selective convenience,” said Ung-Jun Jang, executive director of Hyundai Motor’s autonomous driving division. We plan to introduce a mobility pilot service.”

Kia unveiled the world’s first ‘The All New Niro’. The new ‘Niro’ is a model that reflects Kia’s commitment to sustainability. By integrating eco-friendly new technologies, we aim to achieve the best fuel efficiency in its class.

In addition, major imported car companies such as Benz, BMW and Audi also unveiled their new electric vehicles for the first time.

Benz showed its strong will for electrification by composing only electric vehicles such as ‘The New EQE’ (luxury electric sedan) and ‘Concept EQG’ (electric version of the G-Class).

BMW also introduced a total of four new models, including new models such as ‘BMW iX’ and ‘i4’, which are new pure electric vehicles, and ‘A6 e-tron Concept’, an electrified model of ‘A6’, which is also a steady seller of Audi.

Meanwhile, this ‘Seoul Mobility Show’ will be held for ten days, starting with the general public on the 26th and ending on the 5th of next month.
