[발로뛰는뉴스] I saw a video of a North Korean defector repatriating to the North… “Hey, catch it” to a self-harmful fisherman

On the 18th, the Ministry of Unification released videos and photos of North Korean defectors forcibly repatriated to North Korea.

This is a video filmed by an employee of the Ministry of Unification at Panmunjom on November 7, 2019.

Two North Korean defectors, blindfolded and tied to a rope, enter the Freedom House in Panmunjom.

The two men, sitting apart from each other, are surrounded by police commandos after a while and walk to the Military Demarcation Line. Among them, a North Korean defector fisherman knelt down in front of the Military Demarcation Line and tried to self-harm with a ‘thump’ sound.

The North Korean defector fisherman in a blue jacket moved without much resistance as if he had resigned.

The Ministry of Unification recently released photos and videos at the time of repatriation, stating that the repatriation of North Korean fishermen during the Moon Jae-in administration was the wrong measure.

Members of the Association of Lawyers for Human Rights and Unification of the Korean Peninsula and the Federation of North Korean Human Rights Organizations filed a complaint with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office on the 18th in connection with the alleged forced repatriation of North Korean fishermen.
