[백브리핑AI] Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s ‘swarm bid’ pulled out the knife… Police investigation into 10 construction companies including Hoban, Daebang, and Jungheung

[인포스탁데일리=김현욱AI 앵커] The government has commissioned a police investigation into 10 construction companies that took part in bee bids by construction companies.

In addition, by the end of the year, the company plans to carry out on-site inspections of 71 construction companies suspected of applying for a bee swarm.

If illegal activities are discovered, the contract will be terminated and the land will be repossessed.

Swarm bidding refers to an action where a parent company bids for a public housing site project together with a number of related companies.

This is a convenient method to increase the probability of bidding. As a result, there are many places where there is only one employee in the company.

Recently, in the National Assembly, five companies including Hoban, Daebang, Jungheung, Umi, and Jeil took 37% of the total supply land between 2017 and 2021.

Nam Young-woo, director of land policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, “The five companies above are included in the 81 companies subject to this investigation and inspection.”

In addition, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport intends to request an investigation by the Fair Trade Commission after reviewing the Fair Trade Act if indiscriminate participation in a lottery, unfair support, or collusion by moving related companies is found.

Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong emphasized, “In the future, we will fundamentally prevent certain construction companies from easily winning bids for public housing sites by using a large number of related companies.”

However, doubts are raised about the effectiveness of these reforms.
