[사회][팩트와이] Chinese compatriots and foreigners are also given?… National subsidy fact check

[앵커]

Controversy over the standard and target of the national subsidy payment, which started last week, continues.

We checked whether the claims floating around on the Internet are true.

This is Fact Y, reporter Kim Seung-hwan.

▲ Are stocks included in the standard?

“Security accounts are 2 billion won or less, and deposits 1.3 billion won or less are the standard for disaster relief payments.”

This is an article published in the internet media, but it is not true.

National subsidy is excluded if the financial income exceeds a certain threshold, and the total financial income reported last year exceeds KRW 20 million.

So, it doesn’t matter what the overall valuation of your current securities account is.

It is based on how much money you earned last year from stock dividends or interest income from deposits.

▲ Chinese compatriots and foreigners?

“We distribute our blood to the Korean-Chinese and foreigners”

There have been many articles on the Internet complaining that Chinese compatriots are not receiving the subsidy they are receiving.

However, not all foreigners, including Chinese compatriots, receive the subsidy.

The government targets ‘nationals residing in Korea’, making it difficult for foreigners to receive national subsidies unless they have a family relationship with a Korean citizen.

The recipients of the payment explicitly mentioned by the government are those who have ‘F-6 visa’ for marriage immigrants and ‘F-5 visa’ for permanent residents,

As of last year, only 15% of the 2 million foreigners residing in Korea.
