Ahn Cheol-soo, chairman of the Presidential Transition Committee, once again strongly criticized the current government’s response to COVID-19.
The transition committee decided to expand the national liability for compensation for victims of adverse effects of the corona vaccine.

Ahn Cheol-soo, chairman of the Presidential Transition Committee, who also serves as the chairman of the Corona Emergency Special Committee, criticized the current government’s response to COVID-19 as irresponsible beyond complacency.
He pointed out that even the basic number of confirmed cases was not properly predicted.

In particular, Chairman Ahn drew attention by proposing to postpone the use of disposable cups in cafes and restaurants, which are scheduled to be regulated from the 1st of next month, until the COVID-19 calms down.

In the Social Welfare Division of the Transition Committee, the issue of political quarantine by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been raised again.

The issue of compensation for damages for side effects of vaccines was also intensively discussed.
He pointed out that even though the state-led vaccination was implemented, the company did not take full responsibility for side effects, which caused the loss of trust in the policy.
As such, the new government has decided to push forward with strengthening the national compensation for victims of vaccine side effects.

We also asked the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to come up with a plan to improve the medical system so that home-treated patients can have enough treatment options and face-to-face treatment opportunities.
