[사회]Cargo Solidarity enters 1st general strike … “Abolition of safe fare sunset system”

The cargo solidarity headquarters of the Public Transport Workers’ Union of the KCTU started a general strike for three days starting today (25th) with six demands, including the abolition of the safe fare system sunset system.

At 10 am today, the Cargo Regiment held a campaign for each branch in 16 regions across the country, including Uiwang, Gyeonggi-do and started the first general strike.

The general strike is carried out by blockade of major logistics hubs by branches across the country, and on the last day of the strike, on the 27th, they will gather in Seoul to hold a resolution meeting to condemn the government and the ruling party.

The ‘safe fare system’, which the labor union insists on applying for extension and extension, is a system that legally guarantees the lowest fares for freight drivers.

As the Cargo Solidarity went on strike, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has also prepared emergency transportation measures, such as temporarily allowing paid transportation of private trucks.
