■ Indiscriminate attack on a mother cat who fed a cat in Daegu
A man grabs a woman by the neck and punches her in an alley in a residential area.
Recently, he has been attacked indiscriminately for feeding stray cats.
It became known when nearby residents who stopped the man released the location of the attack on social media.
The victim, who is known to run a ‘shelter’ where stray cats are rescued and cared for, has sued a man in his 50s to the police for assault and other charges.
■ Restaurant fire in Gogi-dong, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do
Red flames engulf the building along with black smoke.
A nearby car rushes out of the scene, but one side of the vehicle is already burnt.
The fire started in a restaurant on the first floor of the building.
Fortunately, no one was injured, but the fire gutted the entire two-story wooden building.
■ Gyeongbuk Yeongcheon Waste Disposal Facility Fire
A waste disposal facility also caught fire.
20 factory workers were evacuated, and one steel frame factory building was burnt down.
A large fire was contained in 50 minutes, but due to the accumulated waste inside, it was difficult to stop it, and a ‘response stage 1’ was announced to move all the manpower and equipment of the local fire department.
The Ministry of Public Administration and Security has asked people to pay attention to fire safety, saying that fires cause the greatest loss of life during the winter season, when heating devices are often used.
