In the ‘daily recovery road map’ published by the government this week, it was confirmed that a plan to reduce the quarantine period for corona19 patients is being reviewed.
It will be announced on Wednesday whether the quarantine period, which is currently seven days, will be ended or lifted all at once.

Now that most of the quarantine measures for Corona 19 have been lifted, what remains is the ‘7-day quarantine obligation of the confirmed person’.
There are many opinions from experts that this quarantine period can now be shortened.

The fact that the virulence of the virus is weaker than at the beginning of the epidemic and that there are enough vaccines and treatments is also a basis for shortening the quarantine period.
However, due to concerns about whether the right to rest if sick will be guaranteed and the need to adjust the amount of government support, pressure is being placed on gradual relief rather than an all-in once.
Considering the characteristics of Corona 19, which releases the virus intensively for three days after infection, it seems likely that the quarantine obligation will be reduced to five days.
The obligation to wear masks in hospitals, clinics and general pharmacies is expected to continue for the time being.
It is likely that it will be possible to lift the quarantine obligation completely around May.
This is because the World Health Organization plans to lift the public health emergency for COVID-19 in late April or early May.
At this time, if Korea also lowers the infectious disease grade of Corona 19 from the current level 2 to the same level 4 as the flu, the quarantine obligation for confirmed patients will naturally disappear.
Japan decided to downgrade Corona 19 to the same infectious disease level as the flu on May 8, and the United States decided to end the public health emergency on May 11.
The government is due to publish a road map for daily recovery reflecting the recommendations of the expert committee on Wednesday.
