[사회]”Lee Hwa-young demands iPhone from Ssangbangul after ‘report on the use of legal cars'”

After reports came out that Lee Hwa-yeong, the former vice governor of Gyeonggi-do, had misused Ssangbangwool’s corporate card, allegations were raised that he was demanding a new mobile phone from the Ssangbangwool group.

The Suwon District Court summoned and questioned former Lieutenant Governor Lee, who was accused of bribery and violation of the Political Fund Act, on the 7th.

Mr A said in the case that he heard a group official make a call saying that ‘Lee Hwa-young asked for an iPhone’ after a report about former deputy governor Lee appeared in the media around November 2021.

Another group officer presented the statement in the previous investigation that the prosecution also ordered the purchase of two iPhones for about 3 million won at the request of the former deputy governor.

Regarding this, former lieutenant governor Lee explained that the former lieutenant governor had never asked for or received an iPhone, and that the prosecution would not prosecute because there was no relevant data.

In addition, Mr A argued that ‘LHY’ written on the group’s corporate card usage statement meant the former deputy governor, but the lawyer countered that other officers of Ssangbangul’s finance team stated that they had never seen the phrase ‘LHY’ .
