The number of new COVID-19 cases recorded in the early 1,400 range, and the number of daily confirmed cases fell below 2,000 for the ninth consecutive day.
It is analyzed that the rate of vaccination, which has increased rapidly since last month, is suppressing the infection, raising expectations for a gradual recovery of daily life.

The number of new COVID-19 patients was 1,420, a decrease of 198 from the previous day due to the holiday effect of the test.
The number of new confirmed cases, which soared to 3,270 on the 25th of last month, after the Chuseok holiday, has been on the decline for the third week, and the number of daily confirmed cases has fallen to less than 2,000 for the ninth day in a row, halving.
1,403 cases were domestic and 17 cases were imported from abroad.
Seoul with 503, Gyeonggi with 489, and Incheon with 1,101 took 78.5% of the total. Patients were found in 16 cities and provinces except Sejong, including 29 in Gyeongnam.
The death toll increased by 16, and the number of severe cases decreased by 13 to 348.
There are 3,049 home care patients, 96% of which are from the metropolitan area, and local governments are delivering home treatment kits, such as thermometers and oxygen saturation meters, right away for home treatment.
The number of primary vaccine recipients has increased by 60,000, and the primary vaccination rate is 78.7%.
The number of secondary vaccinations increased by 350,000, resulting in a completion rate of 64.6% and a cumulative vaccine fatality rate of 0.78%.
