Prosecutors investigating the Daejang-dong allegation have requested a preliminary arrest warrant for Kwak Sang-do, a former lawmaker.

It was determined that the 5 billion won received by his son, who worked at Hwacheon Daeyu, was sufficient, but former lawmaker Kwak strongly denies the allegations.

On the 27th, former lawmaker Kwak Sang-do, who was embroiled in controversy over the cost of his son’s retirement allowance of 5 billion won, was summoned to the prosecution on the 27th.

The investigation lasted 17 hours past midnight.

And one day later, prosecutors requested a preliminary arrest warrant for Kwak.

The case was applied to former lawmaker Kwak on charges of mediation under the Specific Economic Crimes Act.

It is usually applied to punish those who have obtained benefits from mediation related to the duties of employees of financial institutions.

In 2015, when the Hana Bank consortium, in which Hwacheon Daewoo participated, was on the verge of collapse, the prosecution believes that former lawmaker Kwak, who was asked by Kim Man-bae, exerted influence on Hana Bank.

He judged the price of the 5 billion won that his son received from Hwacheon Daeyu in the name of severance pay.

However, it is said that the warrant was stated at 2.5 billion won excluding taxes and bonuses.

Earlier, the prosecution caught the charges in the transcripts and statements of related persons, which were made by accountant Jeong Young-hak, the real owner of No.

An executive at Hana Bank, who was in charge of the Daejang-dong project, was also called three times to understand the progress of the project in detail.

Former lawmaker Kwak completely denies the allegations.

Even after he was called to the prosecution after 10 days of seizure and search, he did not help in the process of forming the Hana Bank consortium, and he maintained his existing position that the 5 billion won his son received was in the name of incentives and compensation.

He emphasized that he would reveal his innocence in court, saying that even after the prosecution’s request for a warrant, it was not revealed in the details of the crimes that he had been asked for and whom he had solicited.

Whether or not to detain Kwak will be decided late tomorrow night, and depending on the result, it is likely to have a big impact on the investigation into the so-called ‘5 billion club’.
