From the 1st of next month, those living with a confirmed case of COVID-19 will be exempted from self-quarantine regardless of whether they have been vaccinated or not. Instead, it becomes the subject of passive monitoring, which notifies the public health center when there is an abnormality in health during daily life.

On the 25th, the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters reported to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters that the COVID-19 quarantine system would be improved in this way.

According to the revised guidelines, the period of passive monitoring for the person living with the confirmed patient is 10 days. A PCR test should be performed once within 3 days of being subjected to passive monitoring, and a rapid antigen test should be performed on the 7th day. This will take effect from March 1st. However, this guideline will be applied to schools after March 14, after the adjustment period for the new semester.
