The number of new COVID-19 cases rose to 400,000 again in 7 days. Compared to the same day of the week last week, the number decreased by about 60,000. However, the number of severe cases and deaths was at an all-time high.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) announced that there were 424,641 new confirmed cases as of 00:00 on the 30th. There were 222,114 in the metropolitan area alone, including 81,824 in Seoul, 117,029 in Gyeonggi, and 23,261 in Incheon. Meanwhile, a total of 44,948,629 people have responded to the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine since February of last year. The rate of primary vaccination is 87.6% of the total population. A total of 44,482,876 people have completed the second vaccination, or 86.7% of the population. The third vaccination rate was 32,688,629, or 63.7%.
