[속보] Magnitude 3.7 earthquake off the coast of Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, Seoul also feels Jindo Ⅱ earthquake

At approximately 1:28 am on the 9th, a magnitude 4.0 earthquake occurred off the coast of Ganghwa-gun, Incheon. Earthquake movements were also felt in the central region, including Seoul and Gyeonggi Province.

The Korea Meteorological Administration announced that a magnitude 3.7 earthquake occurred at 1:28:15 on the same day in an area 25 km west of Ganghwa-gun, Incheon (north latitude 37.74, east longitude 126.20). The depth of the event is 19 km, and the highest seismic intensity is Incheon IV, Gyeonggi III, and Seoul II.

Because of this earthquake, the movement of the earthquake was felt even in Seoul, like a little shaking of the bed.

The Korea Meteorological Administration initially announced the magnitude of the earthquake as 4.0, but downgraded it.

This is the fourth time this year that an earthquake of magnitude 2.0 or greater has occurred on the Korean Peninsula.

The intensity of IV is felt by many people indoors, waking up at night, and shaking dishes and windows. Seismic intensity Ⅲ refers to the amount of small shaking in a stationary car that people feel significantly indoors, especially on the top floors of buildings. Only a few people on the top floors of buildings feel seismic intensity II.
