[속보] Tottenham Hotspur complete negotiations with Ajax for Berwein transfer fee… Released for 40 billion won

Tottenham Hotspur and Ajax have negotiated a transfer fee for Berwein.

[골닷컴] Correspondent Choi Dae-hoon = The long and lengthy Steven Berwein transfer saga seems to be coming to an end. Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur have negotiated a transfer fee with AFC Ajax.

Mike Berbai, who was familiar with the news of Ajax on the 4th (Korean time), said through his social media, “Tottenham and Ajax have completed the Berbain transfer fee negotiations. The transfer fee is 30 million euros (about 40 billion won) and the contract period is until 2027.”

The end of the long and lengthy Berwein transfer saga is in sight. Berwein has been pushing for a transfer even before the 2021-22 season is over. Along with Son’s growth, which is peaking as the season goes on, he was completely defeated by Dejan Kulusevsky, who joined during the season, and it was likely that he would leave Tottenham to secure playing time.

The destination was the Netherlands. For the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Berwein, who was essential to securing playing time, hoped to go to a homeland where he did not need to adapt. Just in time, Ajax showed interest in Berwein, and the transfer was expected to be easy.

However, it was difficult to negotiate the transfer fee. Ajax offered a transfer fee of 17 million pounds (about 26.7 billion won) for Berwein, but Tottenham turned it down. Tottenham invested 27 million pounds (about 42.4 billion won) in the signing of Werwein in January 2020, so they wanted to recover as much of the transfer fee as possible.

After lengthy negotiations with Ajax, Tottenham tried to use Berwein as a trade card for Hischarlisson. However, with Ajax accepting Tottenham’s terms, it looks like Berwein will eventually go to Ajax.
