A commercial satellite image of the submarine port in Sinpo, South Hamgyong Province, North Korea on the 18th showed six boats and ships gathered at the submarine construction pier, suggesting that North Korea is preparing to launch a new submarine. 21st (local time).
Boats and dry docks have often been seen around the submarine’s launch pier, but this is the first time six ships and boats have been found together. In addition, a towing device that allows the boat to tow the submarine is attached to the bottom rail of the launch dock. When launching a submarine, a floating dock can be used to allow the submarine to slowly enter the sea. The submarine building’s forecourt has been empty since the summer of 2020, and North Korea has never commented on whether or not to launch a new submarine.
