Short track skater Shim Suk-hee was separated from the national team due to swearing by his teammates and suspicions of intentional collision, and the ‘red light’ was lit on the Taegeuk mark and medal pension.
Choi Min-jung, who fell due to Shim Seok-hee’s ‘foul’ at the Pyeongchang Olympics, demanded a thorough investigation.

The next day, at the closing press conference, rumors of a discord between the two women’s short track tops came up as an official question, but both Choi Min-jung and Shim Seok-hee dismissed them.

However, as the messages between Shim Suk-hee and Jo Jo-min, the coach of the national team at the time, were revealed late, Choi Min-jung requested an investigation.
Choi’s management company, All That Sports, sent an official letter to the Sports Council and the Ice Skating Federation to clarify the controversy surrounding Shim Seok-hee and Jo Joo-min, including the suspicion of an intentional collision.
If the content of the message is true, it is a criminal act beyond match-fixing.
In the parliamentary audit, the first topic was the ‘Sim Suk-hee incident’.
Shim Suk-hee was virtually deprived of the Korea Sports Award, which was scheduled for this coming Friday, and even the Taegeuk mark and medal pension are in jeopardy.

The Sports Association and the Ice Skating Federation plan to form a joint investigation team in the near future to examine all issues raised, including whether there is an intentional collision and management and supervision of the representative athletes.
Meanwhile, the contents of the leaked message were confirmed to be official evidence submitted to the court and the defendant through digital forensics during the investigation into the sexual assault allegation of former coach Jo Jae-beom.
