[영상] 100 attack drones under the ground… Iranian military’s underground secret base revealed

(Seoul = Yonhap News) The secret base of an attack unmanned aerial vehicle (drone), which is evaluated as a key weapon of the Iranian military, has been revealed.

According to Reuters News on the 30th, on the 28th (local time), the Iranian military unveiled a secret underground drone base in which about 100 drones were deployed through state-run IRIB broadcast.

The location of the base was not disclosed, but IRIB said it was built somewhere in the Zagros Mountains that cross central Iran.

In the released video, drones are arranged in a row in a tunnel under dark lighting.

A drone that resembles the MQ-9 Reaper, a drone operated by the US military, also stands out.

A new drone ‘Avabil-5’, which can be equipped with Iran’s self-developed surface-to-air missile ‘Kaem-9’, was also unveiled on the same day.

Reuters has described the Kaem-9 missile as a Hellfire missile made by Iran.

“Iran’s drone operation capability is the strongest in the region (Middle East),” said Army Major General Abdul-Lahim Mousabi in a state-run IRIB broadcast on the same day.

Foreign media have evaluated the Iranian drone as a key force in the Iranian military, which monitors the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf (Persian Gulf), although there are some exaggerations in its performance.

The West believes Iran’s drone manufacturing technology is leaking into Yemen’s rebel Houthis (self-proclaimed Ansarullah) and pro-Iranian militias in Iraq. Let’s see the video.
