The former CEO of Itaewon was born in Pyongyang in 1938 and entered the film industry with the production of ‘Yoojeong Cheon-ri’ in 1959. After leaving the film industry for a while due to the failure of his first film, he made a relationship with film again by operating a theater in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi-do in 1973. Started making movies.

In 1989, Taeheung Film Company produced Im Kwon-taek’s ‘Azeaze Barrage’. Afterwards, the former CEO of Itaewon made works that marked a milestone in Korean film history, such as ‘The General’s Son’, ‘Seopyeonje’, ‘Chunhyangdang’, and ‘Chwihwaseon’ with Director Im.

Meanwhile, former CEO Lee was nicknamed ‘Chungmuro ​​Three Musketeers’ with director Im Kwon-taek and cinematographer Jeong Il-sung, who worked with him on several films. , and ‘Chwihwaseon’ also won the Best Director award at the Cannes Film Festival for director Im Kwon-taek.

The last film the former CEO of Itaewon produced was Lim’s Downstream (2004).
