[영상] Conflict in Russia… Estonia: Russian helicopters invaded airspace for 2 minutes

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Russia is setting up a sharp confrontation angle with two of the three Baltic countries, including Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.

Estonia’s foreign ministry said a Russian Mi-8 helicopter flew over its airspace for two minutes without permission on the evening of the 18th, warning that “acts that cause additional tension are completely unacceptable”.

“Russia should stop threatening its neighbors and realize that the cost of invading Ukraine is high,” he said.

Estonia has urged Russian troops to leave Ukraine as soon as possible.

Estonia also summoned the Russian ambassador to protest against Russian President Putin’s remarks on the 10th.

Lithuania also blocks Russian freight forwarding, raising tensions between the two countries.

The three Baltic countries have a strong anti-Russian sentiment because they have a painful history of being occupied by the former Soviet Union. As a result, the possibility that Russia may launch an armed attack on the three Baltic countries cannot be ruled out.

However, if this becomes a reality, the conflict is expected to be different from the invasion of Ukraine.

This is because the three Baltic countries are members of the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). See the video for more details.
